En dehors de tout social-darwinisme et de l’anthropologie physique, il éclaire les causes des migrations, les origines géographiques et l’histoire de l’océan Indien et le processus fondant l’unité culturelle du peuple malgache. Echoing from what has been said about Malagasy origins, the author examines the various hypotheses, without neglecting the mythistories, explains them in terms of ideological, political and scientific conditions in which they were conceived, and establishes what can be scientifically said today.
