Les acteurs au pouvoir et les opérateurs patrimoniaux (privés comme publics) tentent de mettre en place un récit historique fédérateur. Au regard de la période coloniale, de la lutte révolutionnaire et de l’identité postindépendance, cette valorisation patrimoniale joue la carte d’un certain pragmatisme, sous couvert d’unité nationale et d’effet-vitrine recherchés. Yet, the country manages to offer a new image of confidence and stability, in line with the national discourse of "new African Eldorado". Heritage development could be a vector of national identity. Therefore, it has locally become a reality and an issue, especially in the Maputo capital city. Different kind of stakeholders (public officials, private sectors…), in line with the heritage and tourism sectors, try to set up a unifying historical narrative.
