Bien que la majorité de ces touristes arrivent par la voie terrestre des pays contigus, le nombre des visiteurs intercontinentaux progresse rapidement. L’aéroport de Johannesburg est la principale porte d’entrée de ces touristes « out of Africa » mais aussi des touristes régionaux. Ainsi, pour appréhender le tourisme, forme manifeste de mobilité, il est opportun de faire appel, sans pour autant qu’elle en soit une condition sine qua non, à la dimension des transports. South Africa is the third tourist destination of the continent. Although the majority of these tourists arrive by land from adjoining countries, the number of intercontinental visitors is increasing rapidly. Johannesburg Airport is the main gateway to these "out of Africa" tourists but also to regional tourists. Thus, in order to understand tourism, which is a manifest form of mobility, it is appropriate to appeal, without being a sine qua non, to the dimension of transport.
