Le texte commence par une histoire de la littérature dans ce pays, de sa fondation où dominait un imaginaire identitaire tellurique et nationaliste à un élargissement des perspectives durant les années 1980. Il discute, ensuite, avec un ample recours à des citations, de l’importance de l’Île du Mozambique comme point de départ de l’imagination de nombreux auteurs désirant s’ouvrir au monde. Enfin, il analyse le type d’identités imaginées et élaborées par une nouvelle génération de poètes mozambicains – des identités plus transversales, maritimes et cosmopolites. This article examines the issue of identity within the Mozambican literature. The text starts with a history of literature in the country, from its beginnings when a telluric and nationalist imaginary dominated to a broadening of perspectives in the 1980s. The text then discusses, with many citations, the importance of the Island of Mozambique as a starting point for many authors to develop an imagination open to the world. Finally, the text analyses the types of identities imagined and developed by a new generation of Mozambican poets – identities which are more transversal, maritime and cosmopolitan.
